We are so excited to see Fredericksburg open back up more and more every day. With that in mind, here are three great things to look forward to this summer ☀️.
1. Carl’s Frozen Custard
Carl’s Frozen Custard, or Carl’s ice cream 🍦 as it is colloquially used, is at the top of the list when you think about summer in Fredericksburg. “In 1947, Carl Sponseller bought a property and created Carl’s Frozen Custard. A couple of years later, he made the world-famous sign, and now the building is part of the Virginia Historical Society and registered as a Virginia Historic Landmark. In the 1950s, Carl would shut down the business in the slower months to do other interests. It created such a frenzy with people saying that he “took away” their frozen custard that when he reopened in February, an otherwise slow month, business exploded! Popular items on the menu at Carl’s are their Shakes, Frozen Custard, and Sundaes. We recommend the Giant Sundaes. Remember that they only take cash, and their menu prices include tax. If you have not already done so, visit Carl’s and join the tradition 👍 !
2. The Riverfront Park
The Riverfront Park 🌳 project is underway, and we could not be more excited about it. This Smart Park will have features like a children’s play area, an interactive water feature, and a stage and events lawn for concerts and other events. During the first phase, the park will provide public Wi-Fi access as well as park security cameras. When the park is completed, you will be able to enjoy the attractive features and the lovely Rappahannock River views.

3. Fredericksburg Nationals
Baseball has come to Fredericksburg through the Fredericksburg Nationals ⚾️ . We are so excited about this. Last year, they completed their stadium, but the pandemic halted their season. Thankfully, they released their schedule for this year. And let us tell you, it looks like a home run for Fredericksburg families! As it starts getting warmer, consider taking your family to a local baseball game. We will be there! What could be more fun?
